How it works

How to Pick a Random Number

1

Set the range

Type the lowest and highest numbers in From and To, then press Fill numbers. The wheel fills with every whole number in between.

2

Choose repeats

Leave repeats on for independent draws, or tick Remove winner after each spin to draw several different numbers.

3

Spin

Press Spin. Every number has the same chance, and the result is recorded in the Results tab.

The odds

Pick a Number Between 1 and 10 (or 1 and 100)

With the numbers 1 to 10 on the wheel, each number has a 10% chance. From 1 to 100 it’s 1% each. The draw uses your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator, so no number is favoured.

You can also build a custom set. Delete numbers you don’t want, type your own list (for example 5, 10, 15, 20), or include 0 and negative numbers by setting the range.

Quick ranges

  • 1 or 2: set From 1, To 2 (a 50/50 choice)
  • 1–6: like rolling one die
  • 1–10: 10% each
  • 1–100: 1% each

The wheel holds up to 1,000 numbers at a time. With large ranges the labels get small, but the winning number is shown in large text.

Several numbers

Draw Several Numbers Without Repeats

Turn on Remove winner after each spin. Each number leaves the wheel when you close the result, so the next spin can’t repeat it. Spin as many times as you need numbers; the Results tab keeps them in order.

This is how to draw raffle ticket numbers, pick question numbers from a worksheet, or choose a random order for numbered players.

Compared

Number Wheel vs Random Number Generator

The maths is the same: a fair random pick from a range. The difference is what people see. A plain generator just prints a number; a wheel spins in front of everyone, keeps a record, and makes the moment more fun in a classroom or on a stream.

Use cases

Ways to Use a Number Wheel

Raffles with numbered tickets

Set the range to your ticket numbers and draw winners with no repeats. For named entries, the random name picker is easier.

Classrooms

Number your students or worksheet questions, then spin to choose who answers or which question comes next.

Games

Decide who goes first, how many steps to move, or which round comes next. A 1–6 wheel works like a die everyone can see.

A note on lotteries: a number wheel can choose numbers for you, but no tool can make a lottery ticket more likely to win. Every combination has the same chance.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pick a random number between 1 and 100?

Type 1 in From and 100 in To, press Fill numbers, then press Spin. Each number has a 1% chance.

Can I pick numbers without repeats?

Yes. Tick “Remove winner after each spin” and each drawn number leaves the wheel until you press Restore removed.

What is the biggest range I can use?

Up to 1,000 numbers at a time, for example 1 to 1,000 or 2,001 to 3,000.

Can I use 0 or negative numbers?

Yes. Set From to 0 or a negative number. You can also type any custom list of numbers, one per line.

Is the number wheel random?

Yes. Numbers are drawn with your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator. Run the Fairness test to see the spread for yourself.

Can it help me win the lottery?

No. It picks numbers fairly, but every lottery combination has the same chance, so no picker can improve your odds.
