Run thousands of spins on your current list in a few seconds, using exactly the same secure draw as the wheel, and compare each entry’s real share with its expected share. Test spins are not added to your results.

How it works
How to Set Percentages on the Wheel
- Type one outcome per line.
- Add the chance after a star, like
Grand prize *5%. Decimals work too, likeJackpot *0.5%. - Check the note under the list. It tells you if your percentages add up to 100%, or how the wheel handled them if they don’t.
- Turn on “Show each entry’s chance” in the options to see the real odds of every slice.
- Spin. The winner is drawn with those exact odds before the wheel starts moving.
The rules
What Happens When It Doesn’t Add Up to 100%
- Exactly 100%: each slice gets the share you typed.
- More or less than 100%: each percentage is scaled to its share of your total.
A *30%andB *60%add up to 90%, so A gets 33.3% and B gets 66.7%. - Some lines without a %: they share whatever is left equally.
A *50%,BandCgives B and C 25% each. - No room left: if your percentages already reach 100%, lines without a % get no chance, and the note says so.
Percent or weight?
Percentages vs. Weights
The wheel understands two ways of setting odds. Use whichever is easier for your list. For bonus entries in giveaways, see how to give someone more entries fairly.
| You type | What it means | Resulting chances |
|---|---|---|
A *25% … D *25% | An exact share for each line | 25% each |
A *3, B *1 | A has 3 chances for every 1 of B’s | A 75%, B 25% |
A *10%, B, C | A fixed share; the rest split the remainder | A 10%, B 45%, C 45% |
Save 10% | No star, so it’s just a name | Equal chance with other names |
Writing a % without a star, like Save 10%, keeps it as part of the entry’s name, so prize names with percentages are safe.

We Tested the Odds With 100,000 Spins
Every wheel on this site has a Fairness tab that runs thousands of spins using the same secure draw as the real wheel. We ran 100,000 spins on the prize wheel above:
| Slice | Set to | Came up | Times |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grand prize | 5% | 4.93% | 4,931 |
| Runner-up | 15% | 15.13% | 15,126 |
| Small prize | 30% | 30.03% | 30,029 |
| Try again | 50% | 49.91% | 49,914 |
The biggest gap was 0.13 percentage points, which is normal random variation (chi-square test, p = 0.54). Run the test on your own wheel from the Fairness tab, and read how our draws work.
Honest wheels
Slices Match the Real Odds
On this wheel, a 5% slice is drawn as 5% of the circle. Some prize wheels show equal-sized slices but use hidden odds, which looks fair when it isn’t. Here, what people see is what they get.
If you run a prize wheel for customers, tell players the odds or show the chances list. Promotions and prize draws are regulated in many places, so check the rules where you run it. Our guide to rigged wheels explains what to look out for.

How Many Spins Until It Comes Up?
Each spin is independent: the wheel has no memory, so a slice isn’t “due” after a long gap. Use this calculator to see the chance of an outcome over several spins.
- A 5% slice has a 64.2% chance of coming up at least once in 20 spins, and a 35.8% chance of not coming up at all.
- A 1% slice needs 69 spins for an even chance of appearing once, and 230 spins for a 90% chance.
- The chance of at least once in n spins is 1 − (1 − p)n, where p is the chance on one spin.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make a spin wheel with percentages?
Type each outcome on its own line and add a star and a percentage after it, like Prize *20%. The slice sizes and the draw follow those percentages.
Do my percentages have to add up to 100%?
No. If they don’t, each is scaled to its share of the total, and the note under the list tells you. Lines without a % share whatever is left.
Can I use decimal percentages?
Yes. Jackpot *0.5% works. Very small slices are hard to see, but they are drawn with the exact chance.
Does the slice size match the chance?
Yes. Each slice takes up the same share of the circle as its chance of winning.
How can I see the odds while spinning?
Open Options and turn on “Show each entry’s chance”. It lists the real percentage of every slice.
What’s the difference between *25% and *25?
*25% sets a share of the wheel. *25 gives that line 25 chances compared with 1 for a plain line.
Is a weighted wheel rigged?
Not if the odds are open. A wheel is unfair when it hides its odds. This one shows them, sizes slices to match, and lets anyone test them.
Is the draw really random?
Yes. Each result is drawn with your browser’s secure random number generator, weighted by your percentages, before the wheel moves.
